Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

This policy explains what information we collect when you use Ads Autopilot, how we handle Google Ads data accessed through the official Google Ads API, and the choices and rights available to you.

1. Who we are and scope

Ads Autopilot is operated by Search Marketing Group Pty Ltd, ACN 154 104 257, of Melbourne: Level 5, 111 Cecil Street, South Melbourne VIC 3205, Australia; Sydney: Level 1/457 to 459 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills NSW 2010, Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Search Marketing Group Pty Ltd, and "Autopilot" or "the service" refers to the Ads Autopilot platform and this marketing website.

This policy applies to personal information we handle as an Australian business subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It does not apply to third party websites or platforms we link to, including Google Ads itself, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

2. What we collect

(a) Account holder details. When you register or speak to us, we collect your name, business email address, phone number and billing contact details, plus the business name and manager account identifiers you connect.

(b) Google Ads performance data. With your authorisation, we access Google Ads data through the official Google Ads API under scoped OAuth. This covers campaign, ad group, keyword, search term, asset and spend metrics, plus related configuration and change history needed to audit the account.

(c) Usage and log data. We record sign-ins, feature usage, approvals and the actions taken in the product, together with technical logs such as IP address, browser type and timestamps, for security and diagnostics.

We do not collect or store end customer personally identifiable information, creative assets, or payment credentials from connected advertising accounts.

3. Google API Services disclosure

Ads Autopilot's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data obtained through the Google Ads API is used only to provide and improve the user facing features of the service. We do not sell this data, we do not use it for advertising or ad targeting, and we do not allow humans to read it except where required for security, to comply with applicable law, or with your explicit permission (for example, when you ask a strategist to review a finding).

4. How we use the data

  • Running nightly audits across your connected accounts and scoring findings by dollars at stake.
  • Generating recommendations, reports and prioritised task lists.
  • Applying changes to Google Ads that you have explicitly approved, and maintaining a rollback record.
  • Providing support, troubleshooting and account administration.
  • Improving the service, including tuning our audit rules and detection quality.
  • Billing, and meeting our legal and regulatory obligations.

5. Disclosure to third parties and subprocessors

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us operate Autopilot, including cloud hosting and infrastructure, payment processing, and AI processing providers, under contract and limited to what they need to perform their function. Google Ads performance data is processed only to deliver the service's features and is never used for advertising or to train AI models.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our Terms and Conditions, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Where data is stored and how it is secured

Customer data is stored in Australia, encrypted in transit and at rest, with scoped and least privilege access controls, role based permissions inside the product, and audit logging of administrative and write actions. Some processing is carried out by our service providers overseas; where that occurs we require them to protect your information to a standard consistent with this policy and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Access to connected advertising accounts is read only until you approve a change; write scopes are used only to apply approved recommendations.

7. Retention

We retain personal information and cached performance data for as long as your account remains active. When you close your account, we delete or deidentify it within 90 days, unless we are legally required to keep it for longer (for example, billing and transaction records kept for up to 7 years to meet Australian tax and financial reporting obligations).

You can ask us to delete your data at any time. See the Data Deletion Policy for the process, what is removed and what is retained.

8. Your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or out of date, and complain if you believe we have mishandled it.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@adsautopilot.ai from your account email address, or write to us at Melbourne: Level 5, 111 Cecil Street, South Melbourne VIC 3205, Australia; Sydney: Level 1/457 to 459 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills NSW 2010, Australia. We will acknowledge your request and respond within the timeframes required by the Privacy Act.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

9. Cookies and tracking on the marketing site

Our marketing site uses Google Ads conversion tracking supplied by Google. When you visit a page, Google may set a cookie that helps us measure whether your visit came from a Google ad and whether it led to a signup, enquiry or other action. This allows us to understand the effectiveness of our advertising and improve the site.

You can manage or opt out of Google's advertising cookies through Google's ad settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Essential cookies are required for the product to function.

10. Changes to this policy and contact details

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the product or by email, and the "last updated" date above will change.
